USS Constitution Model Ships Platinum

Launched in 1797, the USS Constitution was one of the most renowned warships in US marine history. Its speed and manoeuvrability were the reasons it was known far and wide.

USS Constitution: The Voyages

• In 1801, the USS Constitution was allotted her first task in the West Indies, which involved capturing numerous smaller vessels.
• In the Mediterranean, she successfully compelled the people of Tunis and Algiers to sign a treaty stating that American ships were exempt from tribute payments.
• In 1810, she was commanded by Isaac Hull, who was her most noted captain. After that she joined the North Atlantic Squadron.
• On 19th August, 1812 she collided with Guerriere, which was commandeered by a willing combatant,Captain James Dacres.
• Although Guerriere started firing at long range, Captain Hull closed the range in such a way that Guerriere was disassembled and weltered in just twenty-five minutes. She was massively damaged and Captain Hull finally ordered to blow her up.
