Handcrafted, scratch built and ready- made scale yacht model of the Ironsides Yacht (Medium)

The Ironsides yacht model is the smaller of two sizes available along with our many other model yachts, which has been handcrafted with wonderful details or the original vessel.

This Ironsides yacht model was specially designed & built by the plank on frame method of joining multiple small pieces of alternating planks of dark and light wood together on the hull. 

This plank-on-frame construction comes complete with hand sewn sails, brass fittings, walnut finished and tea stained sails.

One of our scale models, this nautical piece is an exact replica of the antique original pond yacht which dates back to the 1930s. The age of the sail allowed exploration of the world, cultural change and world trade.

This type of model yacht would have typically been constructed by a gifted model maker to be offered to a port chapel or shipyard models to impress Admiralty Lords. As a wonderful addition to any collection, this small elegant design is perfect for nautical décor and comes with tremendous appeal.
