If you’re ever stuck for a man’s gift, take a look here. At the moment our front window display features a one off wooden HMS Victory model ship and a very modern Aluminium Titanic model. There is also a modern Riva yacht model and a model of the Endeavour model yacht, showing historic and up-to-the-minute examples of our workmanship.

There are also gift ideas in the front shop window: we have model cars from London taxis and a Morris Minor Traveller to your choice of Ferrari and Porsche model cars from CMC. You can select a remote control model or a vintage 1961 Sharknose. There is a small telescope or a balloon mobile and, as prices range from under fifty pounds to hundreds, there is something for everyone.

Inside the shop, the wonders continue. People often stop and peer inside – one commented that there is nothing like our shop in the neighbourhood. In fact there are very few shops like this anywhere. If you’re looking for a pirate ship from the Pirate of the Caribbean, all in black and quite spooky looking, we have one, decked out in pearls to show the spoils available on the high seas.

There is a 5 foot high cross section of Nelson’s Victory, showing the interior of this historic ship. There’s a intricately detailed model of the one and only Amerigo Vespucci. and also of the Royal yacht Britannia. We also have a cruise liner model here – the Balmoral – and a tanker model for Jumbo Shipping.

And there are more gifts; mirrors, carved wooden pieces, globes, african sculptures and numerous gift items any interior designer would seize to add character to a property.

The shop display changes quite often, according to what has been ordered and is awaiting delivery, what’s new and what has been sold. You will usually find Rehana at the shop, however. She has been with Model Ships a long time and happily deals with shoppers as well as handling logistics, accounting and the often busy phones too. Rehana has an in-depth knowledge of the company’s orders and liaises regularly with both clients and suppliers to ensure that the business runs smoothly.
